Anti-Virus
AVG Free (Grisoft)
AVG Free - a Personal Home User version, very good, virus definition
updates everyday with regular program updates. Very easy to use, scans
everything coming in and going out. Very reliable. However we should suggest that you have a look at
the comparrisons page to compare their other packages as well.
Avira Free - -
Aria Website
An Free anti-virus software with other free tools available. The free version does provide some good protection ,
but obviously not as good as the paid for ones. Its biggest let down is that there is no e-mail protection with the
free version, but it does have a few anti-spyware utilities with it.

Firefox - Mozilla - The award-winning, free Web browser built by a global community just

enormous amount of features,
along with a treasure chest of add-ons and themes it is probably the most customisable browser available.
Our one complaint is the bookmarks element. It does not import well at all creating copies of addresses
that are in identical named folders, but the rest makes life very easy.

Google Chrome is a new vision of browser utilizing a clean fresh working interface and although
it works well enough we found that it appeared to lack features, but this is part of the clean appeal
of Chrome it just works. There are some options but these are simple ones, no complicated bits.

Microsoft Internet Explorer - The new improved browser from Microsoft -
Internet Explorer 8 provides improved navigation through tabbed browsing, anti-phishing
to help protect you, web search right from the toolbar, advanced printing,
easy discovery, reading and subscription to RSS feeds etc.

Opera - This browser works quite well with some nice layouts. However there were some things that we didn't like.
For example, you can not combine toolbars, horizontally, but they can be combined using the side panel which works very well. Most of the command are the same as other browsers, so there is nothing drastically new to learn.
We specifically tried to get the voice activated browsing to work, but without any luck. It was run on a Vista system and kept asking for update files, which were installed, but this process appeared to be stuck in a loop.
Opera were notified, however we have as yet to solve this problem Opera are one of the only browsers to
actually bother to include voice browsing and for this alone (when it works) should be recommended.

Safari - This browsers use appears to be on the increase and this is mostly due to Apples iPhone.
The safari browser is a flexible bit of kit and can be used on just about anything. Even
Google developers use it
Being as it is made by apple it has the Mac features with smooth lines and clean finish. You can certainly see where
the Google's Chrome browser came from. The down side of the Safari is that everything is obviously based around
Apples products. (iPhone, iTunes & Mac). However if you are an Apple supporter then this is
definitely for you.
Other may be put off by the branding, but it does have the 'i' feel to it.

Simply the fastest way to browse photos and videos.
Cooliris is a 3D Wall that speeds up search on Google Images, YouTube,
Flicker, and more.
Enjoy the richest way to view photos from Facebook, Picasa, and now even your computer.
This is a separate utility as well and can be installed on your PC for browsing your own images and videos.
It can be used in your browser or out and when a wall is used you can move it using gestures and zoom in
and out of each image, view video and completely control you
environment
We helped in the testing of this great tool for its early versions and can highly recommend it,
not only as a great tool, but with great staff to back it up. If you find a fault the team will provide
help and get it sorted unlike may others that just ignore you.

Photosynth

This is a very good tool that Microsoft has created and will be combined with other products, particularly ones
that use images, like webcams and cameras. The process is very simple - Just shoot lots of images from as many
angles and views as possible and Photosynth will do the rest. It works out all the images and where they join together
and gives you a finished product.
This is great for creating 3D models and view of anything. Want to show someone your new house? Easy.
The result is down to you. Providing you use a decent camera you can view in and out to any detail.

BackUp
A collection of totally free backup software.
Validation of your operating system is required for this download.
Most Microsoft windows operating systems have this backup utility already and it is quite capable of doing a full
or partial backup with the option of recovery disks. It can backup or restore your whole machine or individual
files. It is not the greatest utility, but it does work and has compression settings. The best bit is it is FREE and
does the job. It does not do disk imaging or file recovery, it just backs up and restores, but that is it.

A great site for everything CSS related. Brilliant effects, advice and
sample code. A well established site and we can't recommend it enough.
If you want to learn about CSS this is a good place to find out what
it can do.
Some effects are free to use, just require a link back. (Although a
tip is always nice.)

JustZipIt
A free zip program that runs of the right click menu. Can zip to e-mail,
just zip and unzip on a click. No interface, just a very lightweight
program. Very simple.
7-Zip
A Free open source program (GNU GPL)that handles the majority of zip
formats
IZarc
A Free Zip program, utilizes drag and drop in and out of archive. This
program has many great features far to many to list here.
